Dog tour stopping in Rivers

Rivers is on the Paws Across Canada national tour route, thanks to Rivers Elementary School. Featuring spokes-pup Toby, a lovable Chesapeake Bay retriever, and Toby鈥檚 鈥渟ide-kick,鈥 international motivational speaker and best-selling author Charmaine Hammond, Team Toby is gearing up to inspire schools, communities and individuals with messages of kindness, workplace respect and community resilience. They will be presenting at Rivers Elementary School on Oct. 28 at 9 a.m.

On Oct. 6 I met a couple and their son at our restaurant. I asked if they were travelling through town or visiting; they told me they had purchased a farm near Lenore. Alastair and Emma Boynton came from England two weeks ago and will be taking possession on Oct. 15.
