水果视频 RCMP members continued their focus on high-risk driving behaviours during the Oct. 10-13, 2014 鈥淥peration Impact鈥 enforcement campaign.

The warmer weather may have helped contribute to an increase in traffic, which saw RCMP members report the following charges: 33 Criminal Code impaired driving charges (including two impaired by drugs); 24 administrative roadside suspensions (23 by alcohol, one by drugs); 27 charges for failing to wear seatbelts; six charges for using a handheld electronic device while driving; 633 other traffic-related charges including speeding, intersection-related and other provincial charges; 16 Criminal Code traffic offences, including driving while prohibited.

One off-road vehicle fatality occurred over the Thanksgiving long weekend this year, in the Russell detachment area.

During the 2013 campaign, members reported: 20 Criminal Code impaired driving charges (includes one by drugs); seven alcohol-related administrative roadside suspensions; 34 charges for seatbelts; five charges for handheld devices; 467 other traffic charges; 19 Criminal Code traffic offences. One off-road vehicle fatality also occurred during last year鈥檚 Thanksgiving long weekend.

Educating the public in safe driving practices remains the priority of all RCMP traffic services units and detachments.
