Like hockey and maple syrup, universal health care is an identifiable feature of Canada. The problem is that, unlike hockey and maple syrup, there are shortages within the health care system that leave many people paying for services they can鈥檛 access. We aren鈥檛 just paying a little bit either. In 2015/2016, the province in planning to spend $6 billion on Health, roughly 38 per cent of the entire $15 billion budget.

Another session of the 水果视频 Legislative Assembly wrapped up on June 30, but not to the benefit of 水果视频ns. The session that started with the budget address on April 30 was the shortest spring session since the last election. The government chose to sit only 35 days compared to the longest session sitting 90 days in 2013.

As I sat in my office on Saturday July 25, 2015, it was a much different July Saturday than the past 8-10 years. For most of those years, I was chairman of the Neepawa Area Lily Festival and I was involved for all 18 festivals.

Don鈥檛 touch that! Mind your manners. Look both ways before you cross the street. Think about how many times you鈥檝e had to repeat these instructions in order to influence habit-forming positive behaviour. Dozens, probably hundreds of times, in different situations and contexts, I suspect. With any luck, after a few years you start to see the results you were hoping for.

There are things in my daily life that could, and sometimes do, irritate me. Today, as I tackled the day, one chore at a time, I chose to wonder. The yard is looking presentable, the grass short enough for me to spot the mole hills.
