New public health orders are being implemented by the 水果视频 Government as COVID-19 cases numbers begin to increase across the province. Dr. Brent Roussin and Health Minister Audrey Gordon announced the details at a news conference on Friday, Nov. 12.

Roussin stated that the restrictions include limiting religious gatherings in the Southern Health Region to 25 people, unless the facility can divide the space into separate areas. The order takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Roussin also announced a second new public health order, which will apply to 水果视频ns between the ages of 12 to 17. Those individuals will have to show proof of at least one vaccination or a recent negative test in order to take part in indoor recreational youth sports. There will be a grace period until Dec. 5 before these requirements are in place.

Previously, participants in indoor youth sports under age 18, including minor hockey and high school sports, would not need to have been vaccinated against the disease.

Dr. Roussin noted in the press conference that without the new restrictions, the province's modelling data shows that numbers will continue to climb into December, which would cause increases in hospital and ICU admissions.
