It was a true night of inspiration for those in attendance at the sixth annual Sports Dinner in Neepawa. The event, held on Saturday, Oct. 18, featured a pair of guest speakers; Tim Hague Sr, one half of the inaugural winners of the Amazing Race Canada, and Jocelyne Larocque, who was a member of the 2014 Canadian Women’s Olympic hockey team.

East View redevelopment project denied provincial funding

The redevelopment of the former East View Lodge site into 44 units of senior’s housing won’t be receiving provincial funding. NADCO chair Wayne Hildebrand and Grant Lukin, chair of the Neepawa Kinsmen Senior Citizens Housing Board said today that they were not one of the five successful applicants. In total, 27 projects were competing for $9.2 million in provincial funding through Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ Housing.

The Rural Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ Football League’s regular season has ended on a positive note for the Neepawa Tigers, as the team defeated the East Park Warriors 31-6 on Friday, Oct. 17.
